Reading some Amigo Energy customer reviews today it shows Amigo Energy customers complain electric rates not what facts label shows.
Rajesh, contacted the Texas Public Utility Commission to complain that his Amigo Energy advertised rate showed one thing as well as the Facts Label but his electric rate he is being charged is higher in price.
Aurora, complained of a very similar issue with Amigo Energy. She claims they sign you up at one amount and have another place where they sign you up at a higher price.

She is basically saying they tell you a cheap price or at least that is what gets conveyed to the customer but when you get your Amigo Energy electric bill it’s a much higher price.
Clifton, had a much different issue. Amigo Energy billing systems were down and so a $35 late fee was charged. Clifton, was also threatened with disconnection of electric service from Amigo Energy.
Obviously Amigo Energy thought they were dealing with a delinquent customer not paying the amount owed to their energy bill company. In reality their business systems are not setup to detect a system error from a truly delinquent account.
In summary, there were three back to back 1 star reviews and in reality there are many more. Amigo Energy has a lot of disgruntled electric service customers in the Houston Texas area. To many people they no Amigo.
It’s important to choose a totally fixed electric rate and not something with a threshold or variable component. It is likely that many of these Amigo Energy customers thought they signed up on a stable Houston electric rate guaranteed to stay the same. This may be another case of sales people saying one thing but the legalese saying something different.
