• The San Diego solar project will have the ability to produce up to more than 600,000 kWh of electricity.
• Greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced by nearly 400 tons each year as a result of the project which is equivalent to planting more than 10,000 trees.
• The county is paying in upwards of $60,000 to lease the space for the solar panels but San Diego Gas and Electric will retain ownership of the system.
• Two more solar projects are in the works which the county of San Diego plans to have completed by spring and summer of this year.
